Six-Semester Degree Pathway Option

The MSN-Educator option is designed to prepare leaders in nursing education who demonstrate cultural sensitivity in their
decision-making and collaboration with other members of the professional healthcare team. Graduates are prepared to
mentor other team members and assume accountability for quality care outcomes as well as to foster best practices and
effectively facilitate the translation of evidence into practice.

MSN-DEP Admission Requirements
  • A baccalaureate or higher degree in a non-nursing discipline
  • Minimum College GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Completion of all required prerequisite general education courses with a “C” (2.0) or above
  • Personal essay addressing the candidate’s professional attributes, ability to manage a rigorous curriculum and career goals.
MSN-DEP Application Materials

The MSN-DEP program begins in the fall semester.

Required application materials can be submitted as they are completed. All materials must be received before admission consideration. Review of completed applicant files requires 3 to 4 weeks.

MSN-Educator

Six-Semester Degree Pathway Option

The Master of Science in Nursing-Nurse Educator is an online program option that prepares licensed, registered nurses who have completed baccalaureate nursing studies, and at least one year of clinical experience or are currently practicing as an RN, for a successful career as a nurse educator in a clinic, hospital, or college/university setting. Selected courses use a combination of teaching methodologies such as online learning and preceptory clinical experiences.

*Clinical experiences must be completed in person

MSN-ED Admission Requirements
  • Graduation from an NLNAC/ACEN, CNEA or CCNE-accredited baccalaureate nursing program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Evidence of a current unrestricted professional registered nursing license or RN license prior to the second semester of enrollment in the MSN Program.
  • At least one year of nursing practice or currently practicing as an RN
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
  • Faculty interview
  • One to two-page written essay describing educational and career goals.
  • Three letters of recommendation from nursing professionals, recent employers, or professors.
MSN-ED Application Materials
